Feedback

This was the first of these events in Southampton so we're very keen to take on feedback, good & bad, so we can make the next event even better! Thanks to everyone who's been in touch already - if you have something to add, please contact speakezee@btinternet.com with the subject 'Speakezee Southampton'.

Most importantly, thanks to everyone who's said they want us to run another event! We're considering something in May 2016 so watch this space...

Speakezee Presents...Southampton! Feedback

Thought they were great talks! Particularly liked the idea of having '3 small chunks' on three different topics - providing variety and possibly allowing you to experience a topic that you might not of gone to if it had been solely that. Like most of these things - never enough time! - I'm sure we could of gone on to after midnight! Perhaps the panel at the end was a little too much after three riveting talks? Thought the venue was absolutely fine - as was the catering which I felt provided adequately for everyone. Would of personally liked more time after each talk to ask more questions - would definitely come again - many thanks to all those who's hard work made the whole day possible!

I would come to another event, but it would be good if the timekeeping was improved. I feel that the schedule of events was a little bit ambitious for the allocated time.

The level was good, but I think we switched gears from science talks into the debate quite quickly.

Thanks for running the evening =)

Scheduling is something I'd already noticed I need to work on for next time! This would have removed the time-pressure that some of the speakers and certainly the panel were under - they had certainly done a fantastic job preparing interesting and highly referenced questions for the speakers, and thinking their time had been cut in half certainly meant they weren't initially able to do all this work justice! However, despite this and the fact that the audience had already absorbed three fantastic talks, they still managed to stimulate some very interesting discussions with the audience and panel - so lots to learn but also lots of positive points too!

I thought the panel discussion you closed on was very disappointing. You had three highly successful and very interesting speakers. Unfortunately they were unable to be intresting as the host monopolised the time in form of an unstructured monologue on dubious ways to promote equality. By providing a structured means to allow the expert panel to speak on their different specialist subjects he could have led an interactive discussion involving the speakers who the audience came to hear. I don't write this to be hurtful, only to provide feedback. I look forward to future events. And thank you - it's not an easy thing to do. I hope there will be another event :)
